Time keeps ticking, days keep passing, months and years keep moving by, people keep moving. We are all moving. Some are moving forward, some are moving backwards and some are moving round and around just where they are standing. The point here is that we are all moving. Some to a known destination, some to a destination they do not know or know nothing about, while some do not have any destination at all.
Those who move forward are those who have goals, who set goals for themselves and are ever persevering towards achieving those goals. Sometimes they fail, they stand up and apply a force much more than the same force that knocked them down. They re-strategize and modify their methods of achieving their set goals. These are people who move forward, who succeed. They do not succeed because they have never failed or never fail; they succeed because they do not see failure as a limitation or an end to their movement towards achieving their goals. They see failure as an opportunity to re-strategize. They see failure or mistakes as another opportunity to do better, to re-appraise their methods to success achievement.
Those who move forward and keep moving forward are those who never sit celebrating their latest success or achievement forever, but keep it as a battle that was won as they launch out to conquer more grounds. They never dwell too long on the fact that they have attained success even when it is very obvious they did. They are those who know that as long as there is breath in them, life keeps moving, and they keep moving, and growing. Learning and growth never ends. Those who move forward and succeed are those who are maximizing their potentials, who believe in themselves as well as in others. They are those who are never tired of trying one more time. They are those people who never give up, who stay focused and fight to remain focused.
Those who move backwards are those who once had goals but lost sight of their goals and destinations. They are those who once achieved success and saw it as the greatest news in the world, using all the time in the world to celebrate their achievements, never moving on, but making the memory of their achievements fresh and alive in their minds on a daily basis, so much so that it has filled their minds and blinded them to other opportunities and the reality of the ticking time and ever passing days. They are those who wake up every morning and awake the success they had yesterday.
The problem with this is that they do not know that yesterday is history, today present and tomorrow a future filled with so many opportunities. Those who move backwards are like a man who was the hero of a battle, and instead of preparing for the uncertainties of tomorrow, he sits in his hut every morning counting the heads he fell down during the battle, forgetting that he grows older every passing day, forgetting that enemies never get finished and that each rising of the sun draws them closer to his hut.
Those who move backwards waste time on achieved goals, instead of moving higher.
A certain young man after so much struggle with hard times graduated from a university with a degree, after the graduation ceremony he came home wearing his graduation gown and hat, and matched straight to the big old mirror in his late grand father’s room, he admired himself and called himself so many sweet names, this he did for hours, and for that whole day. As if that was not enough, the next day he did the same thing until it became his daily ritual, with the same gown, hat and certificate he was given the day he graduated from school.
One day he woke up, wore his graduation gown and hat, held his certificate in both hands and stood before his grand dad’s old mirror, and suddenly noticed white things like cotton wool behind his ears, stubbornly shooting out from under his hat, he looked closely again and again, removed the hat, only to see that his head was covered with the same white stuff. Only then did he realize he had grown grey hairs. He looked again and felt the certificate in his hands, only to discover it had grown old and rumpled from everyday handling.
As if that was not enough, he looked again at the mirror and saw wrinkles on his face, and then he rushed to a calendar hanging on the wall, he still could not understand what was really happening. He ran out with great speed intending to see his neighbor and ask him if he had an idea about what was happening and if he was experiencing the same thing he was experiencing. To his surprise everybody outside his grand dad’s house had changed, children running and moving all over the place, people he could not recognize filled the street, nobody seemed to notice him, everyone was busy with one thing or the other.
Only then did he notice that time had passed, years gone by, others had moved on while he remained at one spot celebrating his success that had long become history not knowing time had passed with so much speed.
Ridiculous this may sound but it happens in milder ways in the lives of people, but all with the same consequence-wasted time.
Those who get tired of trying, who never persevere for greater heights, who back out each time the battle gets tougher, those who are scared of challenges move backwards, farther away from the last success they had from less trying tasks.
The group of people who keep moving round and around the same spot are those who never had goals and are not even planning to have one. They are just very much contended with their less than wonderful state .They just sleep, wake up and allow the day to deliver to them whatever it wills.
The question is; are you moving? If you are moving, in what direction are you moving? The fact remains that time in a good time keeper, never failing in its duties always at work, working to favour those who are always at work. Keep moving-move forward; remain afloat no matter how strongly the storm rages. Set goals, pursue them, and if you achieve success, set other goals, keep achieving, never stop because growing never ends.
Keep learning for it is a path to success; keep believing in yourself and your potentials. Yes you may celebrate your success, but never for more than the reasonable time. If you fail, launch out again with a force greater than the force that knocked you down. See it as another opportunity to try again, to do better, never be afraid of challenges.
Fly,run, walk, jump, crawl, whichever way you can, just keep moving, Luther wasn’t wrong when he said it because time is moving and people are moving. Move now; move forward now that you know you can.

hundred and all their brethren were at their commandment’.1 chr 12:32
